About Kate Kelly

Kate Kelly is an engaging speaker, a thoughtful historian, and the author of Election Day: An American Holiday, an American History.  

She frequently addresses adult audiences and school groups on the topic of American presidential election days. Her presentation outlines the history of the ballot box and provides an enlightening and amusing glimpse of the political trickery of the past and the spirit of celebration enjoyed by Americans as they gathered together to cast their votes.  

Kate is a veteran of both local and nationwide talk and news programs and has been quoted in publications such as Time and The Wall Street Journal. She has appeared on World News Tonight, Good Morning America, The View, The CBS Early Show, Fox and Friends, and on CNN, MSNBC and The Fox News Channel. 

Whether in print or on the speaking circuit, Kate presents information in an interesting and accessible manner. Kate also offers her speaking services through America Comes Alive!. Dedicated to conveying the power and beauty of this country, Kate’s speeches draws on classic and lesser-known stories from the building of America to encourage, enrich and entertain. 

Kate is a graduate of Smith College. She serves on the board of trustees for the Westchester County Historical Society and The Jay Heritage Center as well as the executive committee for the Smith College Libraries.
